Moving and shaking

Life update: I moved again. This time back to lovely Edinburgh! The move was prompted by an exciting new job but I’m equally as thrilled to be back ‘home’ in my favourite city and closer to many friends and fun times.

Edinburgh has changed a lot in the 4 years since I’ve been away and I’m really looking forward to getting reacquainted with what’s new and what life is like here as an adult, rather than as a student. It feels nice to know that Edinburgh can be both familiar and comfortable to me but also with plenty for me to explore now that I’m back.

As ever, the move itself was not very fun, it’s a lot of stress and anxiety packing everything up, moving it (especially when there are three flights of stairs involved), and unpacking it again somewhere else, not to mention cleaning top to bottom and saying goodbye to a place that’s been your home for the last couple of years.

But thankfully the moving part is over and hopefully, I won’t have to do it again for a veeeery long time. I’m looking forward to settling into the Edinburgh flat and have already been putting in the graft to get it looking its best. There is a lot more DIY and decor shopping in my future so pray for my energy and my bank account! I’ll maybe make a lil blog post dedicated to each room’s makeover when they are respectively complete, it’ll be nice to record the process since I’m investing so much in it.

I’m excited to get started with my Edinburgh life again and to build a routine once I start my new job. It feels good to be back!
