After a lovely 4 days in copenhagen with my pals, I jumped on the train to cross the bridge over to Sweden and went to visit my friend Matilda in Malmö! It was such a chill few days, mostly spent outside reading and cycling around a gorgeous city that was new to me. I really loved Malmö – the cycle lanes, the sea, the fika, the second hand shops, the summer squares, the art galleries, the fragrant lilacs in bloom, walking and cycling along the promenade, the sunshine.
If you find yourself in Malmö I’d recommend hanging out in Slottsparken and visiting Malmö Castle – the art gallery there in particular was my favourite, going to the Disgusting Food Museum if you’re feeling adventurous and experiencing Swedish sauna culture at Ribersborgs Kallbadhus and having a refreshing swim in the water where North and Baltic seas meet.
I think Malmö is a brilliant city. Bright and beautiful, easy to get around, plenty of things to do but not very touristy and a great place for a chilled break.

The best part of it all was just hanging out with Matilda – meeting her girlfriend, seeing her home, cooking together, watching her rehearse in the dance studio, meeting some of her friends, walking around and cosy evenings doing puzzles. I look forward to going back someday ❤️

Some food highlights included sea buckthorn sorbet, open sandwiches, spicy ramen, soft delicious pastries and cooking meatballs on the beach bbq.
