Well here we are, 3 years of university have flown by and I’m about to start my final year – so how do I feel about it?
Honestly I’m just ready to get on with it, I’m not particularly nervous or apprehensive even though I know that it will be a lot of work. I also feel really ready for university to come to an end, I’m really looking forward to graduation and getting on with the rest of my life and that could be something fear but honestly I’m just excited.
It’ll be quite weird coming back to uni and lectures and such because it has been quite a while since I’ve lived the life of a normal student. So far all of 2018 has just been working non stop – with my full time placement at The Lyceum for the first six months and then my Fringe job this summer and my part-time job I’ve almost exclusively been working 50+ hour weeks – each experience has been really great and beneficial but the university lifestyle is just very different. As this is my final year I don’t actually have much class time scheduled because you’re given so much self-study time to whack out that dissertation so I am going to be busy still but in a much different way.
What I’m mostly looking forward to this year (other than graduation) is spending my final year with Napier Dance ❤ It’s already super exciting with all the plans we have in store and I’m really glad that I get to be a part of it, especially as the President! I’m really glad that we have a few new things in store too because it’ll be nice to have a few ‘firsts’ in amongst all of my ‘lasts’. We have so much fun with classes, workshops, socials, fundraisers, events, competitions and performances ahead and that’s really the escape that gets me through the academic year. I can’t wait to see how everything turns out and to meet all of our new members in the next few weeks! You’ll definitely be hearing plenty about Dance on my blog for the next 9 months because it really is my uni highlight!
So here we go – 9 months down the road it’ll all be over! Only a wee honours year and a dissertation to go…
